Eagles rout OSU-Mansfield
BEREA, Ky. – A balanced attack led the Eagles to a 121-53 rout of Ohio Stats-Mansfield on Saturday in the Wierwille Classic hosted by Berea College. All 15 players scored for Asbury with six reaching double-digits.
Phillip Morrison led Asbury (3-4) with 17 points and was perfect from inside the arc, 7-7. A night after scoring a career-high 36 points, Adam Delph just missed his first career double-double with 10 points and a career best nine assists. The Eagles had a season high 31 assists in the game as they shot 55% from the floor.
Jamal Morris and Austin Flannery added 12 off the bench as Brock Hurtle was also in double-digits off the bench with 10 points. SharDonoven Crawford recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds including seven offensive. The Eagles pulled down 74 total rebounds and 25 offensive as OSU-Mansfield pulled in only 29.
OSU-Mansfield (0-10) shot only 26% from the floor and made only 5-28 from beyond the arc. Asbury held a 65-28 halftime lead. 12 players played at least 10 minutes for Asbury and no one played more than 18.
Asbury will host Temple Baptist on Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the first game of a double-header with the girls to follow at 8:00 pm against Pikeville.
