Crawford's double-double leads Eagles in blowout win

WILMORE, Ky. – Flip Crawford’s double-double led Asbury’s 43 point victory over Temple Baptist College on Tuesday night, 100-57.  Crawford was one of four Eagles in double-figures with 20 points.

Asbury (4-4) raced out to a 30 point halftime lead as they shot 49% from the floor while holding Temple Baptist to only 26.5%.  Crawford nearly had a double-double in the first half with 10 points and nine rebounds.  In the first five minutes of the second half Crawford scored eight points as the Eagles started the half with 17 points in five minutes.

Phillip Morrison scored all 17 of his points in the first half as the Eagles emptied their bench for the second straight game as no one played more than 20 minutes.  Austin Flannery knocked down half of his eight three-point attempts to score 12 off the bench and Jamal Morris added 10 off the bench.

The Eagles knocked down 14 threes in the game and shot 44% from long range, overall Asbury was 38-76 from the floor.  Temple Baptist never could get their offense going as they connected on only 36% of their attempts.  Rauci Dickerson and Paul Griffin led the Rams with eight points a piece.

Asbury dominated on the boards, pulling down 54 including 19 offensive as the Rams corralled only 32 rebounds.  Morris grabbed seven and DeQuann Gordon had six rebounds off the bench.  Adam Delph led Asbury for the second straight game with six assists.  He played only 14 minutes and scored eight points as well.

Asbury will host the annual Zweifel/Pritchett Classic this Friday and Saturday with the Eagles taking the floor at 8:00 pm on Friday and 6:00 pm on Saturday.
