Shouse Signs Warford
Wilmore, Ky. – Asbury men’s basketball Coach Will Shouse has signed Grant Warford for the 2010-11 season. Warford, the oldest son of former University of Kentucky standout Reggie Warford, played his senior season under his dad at Muhlenberg County High School.
Warford was a 10th District Tournament Team selection as well as a 3rd Region Tournament Team selection in leading the Mustangs to a 20-11 record including 14-1 inside the region and the 3rd Region Championship. He led the Mustangs with over nine rebounds per game and 106 blocks on the season. Muhlenberg was knocked out of the KHSAA Boy’s Sweet Sixteen in the first round by West Jessamine 73-63.
Prior to attending Muhlenberg, Warford was at Bishop Canevin High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During his junior year Warford averaged a double-double 11.8 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. A 6-4 forward, Warford will bring much needed size and athleticism to the Eagles’ front line, as well as a threat around the basket. As a senior Warford shot 52% from the field and 74% from the free throw line.
