Eagles Drop Third Straight
Louisville, Ky. - The Asbury men's slide continued on Thursday night at Spalding as they dropped their third straight 58-68. The Eagles can't seem to turn things around as they've lost nine of 10 and are only 2-9 since November.
Asbury (9-11) was able to shoot better than in recent games at 43% but was out-rebounded by 18 in the game. Jordan Noble (Corbin, Ky.) led the team with 21 points off the bench as he knocked down nine-of-11 from the floor and three-of-four from three. Brian Johnson was the only other player in double-figures with 10 points on five-of-seven shooting.
Adam Delph led the team with four assists, he also chipped in nine points, three rebounds, and a block in his return to Louisville. Justin Jones led the team with seven rebounds. Leading scorer Phillip Morrison was only two-for-12 from the floor and was held under 10 points for the first time all season, finishing with six. Morrison is shooting only 27% over the last three games and averaging only 12 points, 10 points under his season average.
Asbury is averaging only 58 points per game over their last three compared to 79 for the whole season. They have had two of their three lowest scoring outputs of the season in the last week and shooting only 33% in their last three games.
The Eagles return to KIAC action for the rest of the season starting with Indiana Southeast in New Albany, Indiana on Saturday January 23rd at 8:00 pm. IUS has been ranked as high as #5 in the NAIA DII Poll this year and is currently the only undefeated team in the conference at 5-0, they are 16-3 overall.
