Berea Too Much For Eagles
Berea, Ky. - Asbury got down by 20 in the first half against Berea on Tuesday night at the Seabury Center on Berea's campus and never recovered, falling 85-61. Asbury never got back into it in the second half, falling behind by as much as 29 points.
Asbury (9-10, 1-2 KIAC) was led by Phillip Morrison (Louisville, Ky.) who scored 17 points. Morrison had to work for his points as he shot six-of-18 from the floor for the game. Asbury as a team shot only 32% and was out-rebounded 57-39 for the game. Justin Jones led the team with nine rebounds.
Mikah Turner led all scores with 26 points on 10-of-21 shooting. He also grabbed a game high 13 rebounds for the Mountaineers. Berea grabbed 15 more rebounds than the Eagles in the first half on their way to a 47-27 lead at the break.
Asbury will step outside of KIAC play on Thursday January 21st to travel to Louisville to take on Spalding University at 7:30 pm. They will then take on Indiana-Southeast in KIAC action on Saturday at 8:00 pm. The Eagles return home on Tuesday January 26th to face Brescia University in the second game of double-header, girls will play at 6:00 pm and guys at 8:00 pm.
