Balanced Attack Leads Eagles

Knoxville, Tenn. - Asbury scored 100 points for the first time this season in a 100-52 rout of Johnson Bible College on Tuesday night.  The Eagles forced 21 turnovers and scored 46 points in the paint.

Asbury (4-2) had balance tonight as five players scored in double figures, the highest so far this season.  Phillip Morrison (Louisville, Ky.) led the team for the fifth time this season with 18 points in 21 minutes.  Justin Jones (Hazard, Ky.), Brian Johnson (Wilmore, Ky.) and Dre Thomas (Atlanta, Ga.) each scored 14 and Brock Hurtle (North Vernon, Ind.) added 13. 

Jones and Johnson dominated the boards bringing in 25 of the team's 58.  Johnson had 15 of his own including five on the offensive end.  Six of Jones' 10 came on the offensive glass as well.  Asbury won the battle on the boards 58-20 including 21 offensive, as the Eagles scored 18 second chance points.

Asbury assisted on 22 of their 44 field goals and were led by Johnson and Morrison's 4 each.  10 different players had an assist.  13 players saw the floor and 10 played at least 10 minutes.  10 different players scored as well.

Asbury will host the Christian College Classic this Friday and Saturday November  20th and 21st.  Asbury will play Southern Virginia University on Friday at 8:00 pm and Saturday against Temple Baptist at 4:00 pm.
