Eagles Set For NCCAA

The field is set for the NCCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament and Asbury has been seeded seventh in the eight team tournament to be held March 19-21 in Oakland City, Indiana.  The Eagles will take on the second seeded Emmanuel College (Franklin Springs, Georgia) Lions in the first game of the tournament, Thursday March 19th at 1:00 pm central time.

Asbury (19-12) comes into the tournament as the Mid-East qualifier after defeating Cincinnati Christian 94-60 back on March 5th in the Luce Center.  The Eagles are making their seventh trip to the NCCAA National Tournament and second straight.  Last year Asbury received their highest ever seed (#5) and struggled, losing all three games in the tournament and two by five points or less.

Emmanuel College (22-10) comes into the tournament winners of the South Region, defeating Chowan 95-92 last Wednesday.  Emmanuel is a member of the NAIA Division I and of the Southern States Athletic Conference.  The Lions were the #3 seed in the SSAC Tournament and were knocked off by #6 Berry (TN) in the first round.  Emmanuel finished third in the 2007 NCCAA National Tournament.
