Seniors Go Out On Top
Wilmore, KY----The Asbury College men completed a senior day sweep by defeating Cincinnati Christian 91-77 Thursday night in the Luce Center. Asbury capped off the regular season and will head into the KIAC Tournament next Thursday as the #4 seed and will face the host Eagles from Alice Lloyd.
Asbury (17-11, 5-6) was led by junior Brian Johnson's 24 points and eight rebounds, both game highs. Joining him in double figures were senior Michael Spann with 15, sophomore Phillip Morrison with 13 and sophomore Keith Price with 11.
Spann, Jon Ensign, and Patrick Crouse got the start as the only three seniors and helped set the tone early, racing to a 52-34 halftime lead. The Eagles wouldn't led down in the second half shooting nearly 63% from the floor and finishing the game at 58%. Asbury would hit 11-of-21 from 3-point range and knock down 14-of-19 free throws.
Asbury will open up the KIAC Tournament at Alice Lloyd against Alice Lloyd Thursday February 26th at 12pm.
