Men Complete Sweep of CCU

Cincinnati, OH----The Asbury College men's basketball completed the sweep of Cincinnati Christian with an 83-73 victory.  All five starters scored in double figures in the road win.

Asbury (14-7, 2-2 KIAC) was led by sophomore Phillip Morrison's  17 points, including knocking down four three-pointers.  Senior Michael Spann added 16 on 7-of-14 shooting including two three-pointers.  Sophomore Jordan Hammonds added 14 while juniors Brian Johnson and Jordan Noble added 10 each.  

Asbury didn't shoot the ball particularly well, only 43% but overcame by forcing 19 CCU turnovers and getting to the free throw line 21 times, hitting 17.  CCU only forced 12 Asbury turnovers and hit only 7-of-12 free throws.  

Hammonds had his first double-double in his fourth game as an Eagle, grabbing a team-high 11 rebounds to go along with his 14 points.  Hammonds also led the team with three assists.  

Asbury will hit the road, playing at St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday January 31st at 4pm, following the women's game at 1pm.
