Eagles Need Overtime to Down Blazers

Wilmore, KY---The Asbury College men's basketball team needed overtime to defeat Ohio Christian University Friday night in the Luce Center 86-81.  The Eagles had a five point lead at halftime but shot only 27% in the second half in letting the Trailblazers send it to overtime.  OCU tied the game on two free throws from Rickshonate Spell with 8.3 seconds left and Patrick Crouse's last second shot couldn't find the mark.

In overtime Michael Spann took over, scoring the first five points in the extra session for the Eagles on his way to a team leading 25 on the night.  Sophomore Phillip Morrison added 23 including six in the overtime period.  Junior Brian Johnson and sophomore Cory Britt added 12 a piece. 

Asbury (10-5) was outrebounded 33-26 on the night with Johnson leading the Eagles with eight boards.  Johnson also led the team with five assists.

The Eagles will head to Louisville for a game on Tuesday night against Boyce Bible College at 7pm.
