Eagles Fall to Red Wolves
Wilmore, KY---The Asbury College Eagles fell to the Indiana University East Red Wolves 82-75 in the Luce Center on Friday night. The Red Wolves outscored the Eagles 51-43 in the second half in getting the victory.
Asbury (13-7, 1-2 KIAC) was led in scoring by sophomore Phillip Morrison with 18. Junior Brian Johnson added 15 with senior Michael Spann scoring 13, and junior TJ Chinn joining them in double figures with 11.
IU-East held the size advantage but Asbury battled on the boards and kept the final numbers close. The Red Wolves out rebounded the Eagles 46-43 on the night. Sophomore Keith Price led the Eagles with nine rebounds.
Neither team shot the ball particularly well on the night, with Asbury at 44% and IU-East at 41%. The difference was from the free-throw line where the Red Wolves would knock down 15 of 24 while Asbury would only make it to the line eight times, hitting five.
The Eagles will hit the road for two conference games next week. First the team will travel to Cincinnati Christian on Tuesday January 27th at 7:30. They will then head to Missouri to take on St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday January 31st at 4:00pm. Both games will be the back end of a double header with the women.
