Spann named KIAC player of the week

Spann led the team to two wins this week, leading the team in scoring both games.

Wilmore, KY---The KIAC announced that Asbury Senior Michael Spann is the men's basketball player of the week for the week of December 1-7. Spann, 6'1 guard from Wilmore (West Jessamine) led the team in scoring in both of Asbury's game during the week, scoring 19 in only 17 minutes against Johnson Bible Tuesday December 2, and scoring 25 against Trinity International on Friday December 5. Spann also pulled down nine rebounds on the week. Spann shot nearly 50% for the week, making 15 of 31 shots, an d 11 of 15 from the free-throw line. Spann is second on the team in scoring on the season, averaging 16.5 points per game, and leads the team in rebounds at 6.8 per game.

Spann is the second player to receive KIAC Player of the Week honors this year, joining last week's (Nov. 24-30) winner Phillip Morrison.

The Eagles play at home tonight, Tuesday December 9 at 7pm against Boyce Bible College.
