Spalding takes down Eagles
Wilmore, KY---The Asbury College men's basketball team fell to Spalding University on Thursday night, December 11 in the Luce Center 89-76. Spalding took a 38-38 game at halftime and blew it open in the second half, shooting 58% from the floor while Asbury could only manage 30%.
Asbury (9-5) was led in scoring by sophomore Keith Price who had 16 points on seven of eight shooting. Senior Michael Spann and sophomore Cory Britt added 14 each, while sophomore Phillip Morrison had 13 and junior TJ Chinn added 10. Junior Brian Johnson led the team with six rebounds, and Morrison led the team with five assists. Asbury was out rebounded by ten, and shot only 38% from the floor for the game.
The Eagles will travel to Owensboro, Kentucky to play NCAA II Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday night at 8:30 eastern in an exhibition contest. Asbury will open up the 2009 campaign with a home game against Ohio Christian January 9 at 7pm.
