Eagles Roll to 122-65 Win
Wilmore, KY---The Asbury College men's basketball had no problem improving to 4-1 after defeating The Crown College 122-65 on Tuesday night. The Eagles used a 15-0 run to start the game and cruised to a 69-30 first half lead.
The Eagles used a balance attack with five players scoring in double figures and 13 players scoring overall. Brian Johnson led the team with 22 points and seven rebounds, and six assists. Jordan Noble knocked down three 3-pointers and had 19 points, Phillip Morrison added 15 on 6 of 9 shooting. Michael Spann had 11 and Peter Vogel added a quick 10 points in five minutes off the bench.
Asbury forced 32 turnovers and had 23 steals, highlighted by Spann and Morrison's three each. The Eagles scored 40 points on Royal Crusader turnovers. Keith Price was big off the bench with seven points, five rebounds, and four blocks.
Asbury will travel to Georgetown, Kentucky to battle the #6 Georgetown Tigers Thursday at 7:30. The Tigers are a traditional power in the NAIA, advancing to the semi-finals last year. Asbury lost to Georgetown last year 90-54.
