Eagles 1-1 In Holiday Tournament

Louisville, KY--- The Asbury College men's basketball team split a pair of games in the Spalding Holiday Tournament at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky.  The Eagles defeated in-state rival St. Catharine's College 72-60 on Friday afternoon, and fell to Westminster (MO) on Saturday 86-71.

Asbury (6-4) jumped out to a quick 34-19 halftime lead against St. Catharine's, shooting 50% from the floor and holding the Patriots to 27%.  Senior Michael Spann led the team with 23 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including 3-for-5 from 3-point range.  Sophomore Phillip Morrison joined Spann in double figures with 15.  Sophomore Cory Britt had seven points and seven rebounds to lead Asbury.

Saturday saw the Eagles fall in the early 1st half hole that they couldn't climb out of, falling behind 42-26 at the break.  Asbury shot only 29% from the floor in the first frame.  Junior Jordan Noble led the team with 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including 3 3-pointers.  Morrison added 16 and sophomore Keith Price added 11 off the bench.
