Senior sendoff powers Asbury past Berea, 76-68
Wilmore, KY - Eagles use a 15-3 run midway through the second half to turn a one point lead at 41-40 into a 56-43 advantage, allowing Asbury to keep Berea at bay in a 76-68 win. Seniors Brandon Fentress and Brett Johnson led the way for the Eagles with 20 and 18 points each on 17-of-22 shooting combined.
The game marked the final regular-season home appearance for seven seniors: Derek Bland, Robert Coleman, Fentress, Johnson, Matt Pittman, Dusty Riedesel, and Ben Spann. Combined, the seven account for 4,745 points, 2,263 rebounds, and 818 assists coming into tonight's game during their careers.
The win moves Asbury to 16-11 overall, 3-4 in KIAC play. The Eagles will finish regular-season play with back-to-back road trips to IU-East on Thursday and IU-Southeast on Saturday before returning home for KIAC Tournament play, Feb. 28-Mar. 1.
