Men's Basketball falls short with late rally at Alice Lloyd

Pippa Passes, KY - After allowing 60 percent shooting in the second-half and trailing by 17 with 3:21 left, Asbury inexplicably found themselves with a chance to tie the game with :16 left thanks to pressure defense and missed free throws by Alice Lloyd. Derek Bland's game-tying attempt however, rimmed out ending hopes for a miraculous comeback in an 92-87 loss.

The two teams combined for an incredibly close game in the box score with each team making 35 baskets, eight from three point range, leaving Alice Lloyd's plus five mark at the free throw line as the difference. The Eagles got a standout performance from senior Dusty Riedesel with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Riedesel shot 7-of-8 from the field, including a perfect 3-of-3 from three-point range. Brandon Fentress led in scoring with 23 points.

The loss drops Asbury to 2-4 in the KIAC, 14-11 overall. The men will next be in action on Saturday as they travel to St. Louis Pharmacy. The Eagles return home for Senior Night against Berea College on Tuesday, February 19th. Tip-off for that game is set at 7:00 p.m.
