Men's Basketball earns short-handed win at Ohio Christian
Circleville, OH - Asbury used a 12-1 run down the stretch to earn a 78-64 win at Ohio Christian on Monday night despite missing three players, including leading scorers Brett Johnson and Michael Spann.
With Asbury leading 66-63, Ohio Christian's Robert Lassiter's attempt at a game-tying three-pointer bounced off the rim into Dusty Riedesel's hands. The Eagles would then get three straight baskets by a trio of seniors, Matt Pittman, Derek Bland, and Ben Spann to push the score out to 72-63, turning the score into the final margin with free throws down the stretch. The senior trio combined for 54 of the 78 points, led by Derek Bland's 24.
The win moves Asbury to 14-9 on the season as they return to conference play against KIAC-leader Indiana-Southeast on Saturday. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. and can be heard on WACW .
