Men's Basketball splits first two games back

Missing starting forward Brett Johnson, the Eagles cruised to victory against Boyce College on Tuesday night, 96-64, a game that featured a return to the court for senior guard Derek Bland.

Bland and fellow senior guard, Matt Pittman would lead the Eagles with 17 points each as Asbury would pull its starters after going up 77-37 with just over 13 minutes left in the second half.

On Thursday night, the Eagles traveled to Cincinnati Christian for a return match against CCU, having earlier won 84-71 thanks to Johnson's 42 point effort. Without Johnson in the lineup and CCU having their full compliment of players unlike the first game, the Eagles still held a 44-34 halftime lead before hot shooting by CCU would give them the 83-79 win.

The mixed result puts Asbury at 10-6 on the season heading into Saturday's game with Ohio Christian. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. and can be heard on WACW , the home for Asbury athletics on the internet.
