Eagles earn 68-64 win over Cumberlands at KIAC-MidSouth Challenge

Berea, Ky. - Tied at 36, the Eagles went on an 18-3 run to take a 54-39 lead with 7:59 left in the game. Brett Johnson and Michael Spann carried the Eagles during the run, with Spann connecting on back-to-back three pointers while Johnson added a three-point play of his own, finishing off the run with a seven-point outburst of his own.

Cumberlands would immediately rally with a 10-0 run of their own but Asbury converted down the stretch for the win. Johnson ended up with 24 points, leading all players in scoring as well as 13 rebounds. The brothers Spann, Michael and Ben also finished in double figures with 14 and 12 respectively.

The win puts Asbury at 8-3 on the season as they will host Spalding University on Tuesday. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on WACW, home of Asbury athletics on the radio dial and internet.
