Brett Johnson wins KIAC Athlete of the Year

Brett Johnson of Asbury College was recently awarded the 2007 Male Athlete of the Year for the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The junior was honored for his role on the KIAC regular season co-champion basketball team, leading the Eagles in points (15.2 per game) and rebounding (7.4) while registering 96 blocks, an Asbury single-season record. Johnson also earned All-KIAC selection as well as being named the KIAC Player of the Year. The Eagles finished at 22-10 on the season, 7-2 in conference play.

Johnson beat out Lamar Williams (Alice Lloyd), Dillon O'Krane (Brescia), Brandon Richie (IU-Southeast), and Jake Dallas (St. Louis College of Pharmacy).
