KINGSPORT, Tenn. – A walk-off extra inning win puts Asbury baseball in the KIAC Championship game for the first time in school history.  The Eagles will face the Indiana Southeast after the Grenadiers defeated Berea 11-5.

Asbury also qualifies for the Unafiliated Tournament next week in Kinston, N.C. with the America Mideast Conference and the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.  IUS will also represent the KIAC in the 6-team tournament.

Asbury (13-36) came back from down four runs in the ninth inning to tie the game as Tyler Wooden delivered the big blow.  Tyler Weaver scored to tie the game 6-6.  In the 11th Wooden knocked in Weaver again, this time with a sacrifice fly to win the game.  Anthony Palmer picked up the win in relief.

The Eagles advanced in the first round with a 12-1 win over Brescia.  Brescia was eliminated after a 15-0 defeat against Indiana Southeast earlier in the day.  Berea and IUS played on Thursday with Berea winning 6-5.

Asbury split four games during the regular season with IUS, all played in New Albany.  The championship game will be at 12:00 pm.  If the Eagles were to lose to IUS then they would play a second championship game starting 30 minutes after the completion of the first game.
