Eagles Cruise Past Covenant
BRISTOL, Tenn. – The top seeded Eagles had no trouble with the sixth-seeded Scots from Covenant, winning 8-2 on Tuesday morning. Asbury (33-16-2) capitalized on four Covenant errors resulting in four unearned runs.
The Eagles scored early and often against Covenant, plating two runs in the top of the first followed by one in the second and three in the third. Danny Olszowy and Greg Bowling both had RBI singles in the first inning. Olszowy would add a two-run triple in the third and finished the day with three hits and three RBIs. Evan Thomsen and Cody Christopher each had two hits for the Eagles as Asbury pounded out 12 hits in the game.
Jon Wes Adams started and pitched his second straight complete game in improving to 7-1 on the season despite not pitching in almost two weeks. Adams allowed nine hits and walked two and struck out only two.
The Eagles will take on the loser of the today’s final game featuring King and Mid-Continent game. That game will take place on Wednesday at 1:00 pm.
