Ciolek Nabs KIAC Honors

Asbury University senior first baseman Matt Ciolek was named the KIAC baseball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, March 14th. In four games last week, Ciolek batted .667 (8-for-12) with four home runs, nine runs batted in, and four runs scored. Ciolek helped lead the Eagles to a 3-1 record on the week including a split against Union (Ky.) who is recieving votes in the NAIA Poll. 

He had at least one hit in all four games and hit three home runs in one game against Huntington University, which is a school record. On the season, Ciolek is leading Asbury in home runs (5) and runs batted in (20), and he is second in batting average (.388). Asbury will return to action on March 17th as they take part in the KIAC Round Robin Jubilee at Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville.
