IUS Tops Eagles
Wilmore, KY - Asbury walked 16 batters as they fell to Indiana Southeast 10-3 on Wednesday afternoon in a battle of the top two teams in the KIAC. Asbury (19-16, 8-2) now falls a full game behind Indiana Southeast (21-18, 10-2) with a double-header looming on Thursday afternoon.
IUS would score four runs in the second inning without the benefit of a hit, six walks and one error allowed the Grenadiers to take a 4-1 lead early. Asbury would struggle from the plate as well, mustering only six hits in the game. Zach Monroe came up with two of those hits including his 13th homer of the season.
Asbury and IUS will hook up in a double-header slated to start at 2pm on Thursday April 16. In between the two games Asbury will honor their two seniors Luke Temple and Slade Halvaksz.
