Eagles Four Wins From KIAC Title
Wilmore, KY - The Asbury College baseball team is four games from wining the KIAC for the first time in school history. The Eagles split a double-header with Indiana Southeast on Thursday afternoon, dropping the first 1-0 and coming back to take game two 7-1. Asbury will meet Brescia on Friday and Saturday in Owensboro needing all four wins to clinch first place.
The Eagles got two fantastic starts from Josh Cummins and Cody Christopher on Thursday. Cummins was the tough luck loser in game one after pitching six innings and giving up only one run. Christopher came back in game two and matched Cuminns but got some run support. Christopher struck out six and gave up only six hits in picking up his fifth win of the season.
Danny Olszowy blasted his second homer of the season in game two, a three-run shot that put the Eagles up 4-1 in the second inning. Olszowy had two hits in the game as did Travis Martin and Gardner Adams. Asbury managed only two hits in game one.
Asbury will travel to Owensboro on Friday and Saturday to play Brescia. Asbury can still win the conference even if they don't sweep Brescia, but would need Indiana Southeast to lose.
