Baseball earns weekend series split with Alice Lloyd

Pippa Passes, Ky. - Asbury earned a 2-2 games split at Alice Lloyd College over the weekend to move to 2-6 in conference play, 11-16 overall. Freshman Slade Halvaksz was the standout for the games going 9-for-14 with five runs scored, five RBI, and five stolen bases. Halvaksz currently leads the KIAC with 16 stolen bases on the year.
Freshmen McKenzie Carter and Josh Thigpen earned wins for the Eagles with Greg Bowling getting no help from the offense in the third game (3-1 Alice Lloyd) after pitching six innings allowing only one earned run while striking out five ALC batters.
The team returns home for all this week with seven games on the schedule. The week begins on Tuesday against Miami University-Middletown in a doubleheader set to begin at 2:30 p.m. The team will then turn right around and face Campbellsville University on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. The weekend features conference foe Berea College in doubleheaders on both Friday and Saturday. Friday's games begin at 2:00 p.m. while Saturday's first pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
