Baseball roster set for the 2008 season
Wilmore, KY - After a four year hiatus, the Asbury baseball program returns in 2008 with a roster of 30 players for its Opening Day - just under three weeks away on Friday, February 15th at home against Taylor University.
The Eagles consist of the 23 freshmen, 2 sophomores, 3 juniors, and 2 seniors. Head Coach Lee Rogers was hired in late August of 2006 in order to be able to recruit a full squad for the 2008 season. Rogers responded with over 750 letters to recruits, keeping in constant contact with over 120 players during the 2006-07 school year and into last summer.
"The kids are excited about the opportunity to play and while we'll be a talented team, youth will have to be mixed with patience as we face established teams stocked with upperclassmen," said Rogers about this year.
