Asbury College Baseball: Building a team

WILMORE, KY—Reporters from The Daily Independent in Ashland, Ky., recently highlighted the future of Asbury College baseball.
From May 28 to June 1, four seniors from different high schools attempted to lead their respective teams to the 16th Region Baseball Championship in Morehead.
While they may be competitors now, in the fall, Greg Bowling of Boyd County, James Barber of Ashland, Aaron Rowe of Greenup County and Logan Barker of Rowan County will all don Asbury College purple as they help build the Eagle baseball program. Coach Lee Rogers reports at press time that 26 freshmen have committed to play baseball for the 07-08 season. Rogers has scheduled 46 games for next spring, the first against Taylor University on Feb. 15. The field is still under construction and is expected to be ready by August 1. The team will begin practice Sept. 4, 2007.
