Lee Rogers named new Asbury College baseball coach

Asbury's first game since reinstating the baseball program won't happen until Spring 2008, however, the College is excited to announce Lee Rogers as it's new head baseball coach.

Rogers brings a great deal of central Kentucky baseball experience to the position having served as an assistant at Paul L. Dunbar high school in 2005 and 2001, Transylvania University from 2002-2004, and the University of Kentucky in 1981. His playing experience includes Lafayette High School and the University of Kentucky where he was a four-year letterman for the Wildcats from 1977-1980. Rogers spent time away from baseball running his family's automotive business, returning to his passion, coaching baseball, in 1998 as the head coach of the Turfland Babe Ruth League team before his first time at Dunbar.

"I enjoy the challenge of a brand new program and feel that the Central Kentucky area offers plenty of talented players to field a competitive team right at the start," said Rogers about his hiring.
