WILMORE, KY—On June 6, 2009, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters presented their annual Gabby Awards. Asbury College alumnus Joel Aaron Foster ’04 won the award for “Best On-Air Personality.”

According to Jeff Carter, Operations Manager and Program Director at WGKA in Atlanta, Georgia, “Joel’s award is a major accomplishment for a young broadcaster in a top ten market.” Joel also won the Gabby for “Best Station Produced Promo.”

Speaking highly of Joel, Carter said, “While the radio industry seems to be scrambling to reach the next generation, it is encouraging to see the GAB honor someone with a track record for doing just that. I’m honored and blessed to be working with someone who in the next 20 years will most certainly be recognized as a broadcast pioneer.”
