A Letter from Archives
Dear Friends,
The formation of a C.S. Lewis Study Center has been approved for campus. Along with this, we are planning a special collections section related to this in the library. Many of our alums might have early editions of Lewis titles - even if not first editions, that they would be willing to give or put on "permanent loan" with Kinlaw Library. Please contact us first, as we don't need dozens of the same edition, but I would love to have a complete set of his works.
Dr. Devin Brown, professor of English and Lewis scholar, is taken with the idea of displaying multiple copies of the same title to show changes in the presentation and marketing, since there is so much emphasis on the graphics and design of book covers today. He thinks this would be an interesting aside. It could well be that one or more of our alums would have a "first edition" of one of Lewis' works and this would add real value to our study area. There could also be someone with a collectible item of interest - something in the way of a unique piece of memorabilia relating to Lewis and that they would be willing to gift the item or loan it to Kinlaw Library.
So, with this said, I would love to hear from any of our alumni. I can be best reached at 859-858-3511, ext. 2270.
Thanks,
