Alumni Reunion Gifts -Facelift to Central Campus

Each year the Alumni Board selects a project for the reunion classes to contribute towards.  Over the past decade the result has resulted in a facelift to much of central campus including new steps on Hughes Auditorium, a walking plaza between Hughes Auditorium and the Kinlaw Library and an outdoor seating in front of the Student Center.  For the next few years that tradition will continue as we provide funding to turn Jewell Street (in front of the men's dorms) into a tree lined walking plaza.  The architect's renditions are below.

Alumni Roll-up Sleeves & Add Deck to Student Center

Occasionally there are projects for alumni to work on together.  Such was the case a couple of years ago when a deck was needed on the new student center (old Morrison-Kenyon Library). Those who helped included Ron Harper '91, Joe Kosin '91, Brandon Rexford '93, Tim Bickert '94, Rick Maynard '00, Russ Upperman '00, Dave Bush '04, Dave Hanna '05 , Scott Rinehart '05, Jordan Adler '06, Jonathon Bryant '06, Joe Wiley '06 and Ben McLaughlin '07. Also helping were Bill Schutter (current parent), Alex Schutter (younger brother of AC student) and Jeremy Schinkle (Asbury Seminary student). A big thank-you to Dr. Mark Troyer, VP of Student Development and Andy Bathje, Associate Dean for Leadership Development for coordinating this event. We also would like to thank our Physical Plant workers who have spent several weeks on the project. This deck is a great addition to our campus.
