Clair Budd
UNDEFINED
Clair Budd came to Asbury College in 1989 after 13 years of fulfilling ministry in several congregations. He grew up in Ohio where his dad was a minister in the Church of the Nazarene, and in early adolescence felt God's call into full-time ministry -- not even dreaming that God would eventually lead him into college teaching.
Dr. Budd completed degrees at Eastern Nazarene College, Nazarene Theological Seminary, and Oregon State University, while always involved in church ministry. He was ordained to the Christian ministry in 1984 while serving the Oregon City (OR) Church of the Nazarene. He and his family are very active in the ministry of a nearby Nazarene congregation.
A frequent speaker in churches, Dr. Budd has several publications to his credit including several articles in the recently released Evangelical Dictionary of Christian Education.
Current research focus is "Mentoring for Ministry" -- a retrospective ethnographic study of the role mentoring plays in the discernment of, and preparation for, a call to vocational ministry. The study has been partially funded by a grant from Transformations, an Asbury College initiative supported by the Lilly Foundation.
