ADULT DEGREE PROGRAM

In about 2 years, adults can complete a college degree going to class just ONE NIGHT A WEEK and taking just ONE COURSE AT A TIME!

Mission Statement

The mission of the ACHIEVE Program is to provide a quality academic program, within a Christian context, that equips nontraditional students to achieve professional excellence in their chosen field. The ACHIEVE Program prepares students for leadership and service to others, cultivates attitudes of lifelong learning, and fosters spiritual development.

Program Design

The ACHIEVE Program is a non-traditional accelerated program designed to provide adults with an opportunity to complete a college degree and earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Ethics, Elementary Education, or Leadership and Ministry.

The ACHIEVE Program is designed for busy adults who already have approximately two or more years of college credit. In this accelerated format adult students attend class one night a week on a year-round basis. Periodic breaks are integrated into the schedule. This format provides the opportunity to complete a degree in about two years. This program is designed to bring a new level of management skills, leadership, and increased ethical values to those desiring to make a difference in their work, church, and world.

Instructional Modular Courses

To enable students to fit this program into their already busy lives, the College has scheduled 18 modular courses one night a week from 6-10 p.m. for the duration of the program (about two years). Organized into groups of about 15, called a cohort, students progress through the program together.

Students earn 54 semester hours of credit in Management and Ethics, 54 semester hours of credit in Leadership and Ministry, and 76 semester hours of credit in Elementary Education in four semesters followed by 12 weeks of student teaching. All students take one modular course at a time. Each course is completed in five weeks of classes.

The College provides the modular course Student Guides on CDs. The Student Guide gives detailed assignments for each week. In the Management and Ethics and Leadership and Ministry degree programs, there is a Take Home Final Exam in each course which is open book and completed at home.

Asbury College instructors teach in the ACHIEVE Program. They are trained to relate to adult students and to make each modular course an exciting and valuable learning experience.
