Whether you are interested in performing for stage or screen, the regionally recognized Asbury University Theatre and Cinema Performance program offers opportunities for you to grow and learn. This program recognizes the similar yet diverse skills necessary to succeed on the stage and onscreen.
Acting for stage requires and energy and exaggeration of movement that appears ridiculous on the screen. By studying both stage and screen acting, TCP students have a greater understanding of their art as well as greater marketability after graduation.
The Asbury University Theatre & Cinema Performance Program offers scholarships for those interested in majoring and minoring in Theatre & Cinema Performance acting or musical theatre. Auditions are by appointment only and are held in the Greathouse Theatre inside the Andrew Miller Communication Arts Building. The requirements for auditioning are as follows: picture and resume, 2 one-minute monologues (one comic, one dramatic, and sixteen bars of a musical theatre piece* after 1950). To request an audition, or for more information, contact Jeff Day at firstname.lastname@example.org.
*For those interested in our Musical Theatre Scholarship.
