This delightful new opera is a showcase for voice types from the highest coloratura soprano right down to the lowest basses. The comic plot centers on four divas who arrive in heaven only to learn they cannot all be in the heavenly chorus because there are not enough men in heaven to balance the women. Saint Peter and Gabriel accompany the divas as everyone wears disguises for a descent into the underworld to try to rescue enough tenors and basses to balance out the angelic choir. This will be an evening of delightful musical comedy.
