Homeschool Music Classes

The Asbury University Music Department offers music classes in both vocal and instrumental music for elementary students.  Home-schooled students come to Asbury to be taught by university students in teacher training.

Elementary Vocal Music Education Classes are offered on Thursday afternoons from 12:50-1:50 p.m.  For the Fall of 2012, these classes will be based on Kodály methodologies (using the scale syllable system of sol-fa, rhythm syllables and hand signs, while incorporating musical games and movement activities).  Classes will be designed for Grades 3-4, though 5th graders are welcome, as are 2nd grade students who are more musically advanced.  Registration & information forms are available below.  Just click on the appropriate link, and return the registration form at your earliest convenience.

Homeschool Vocal Music Class Information

Elementary Beginner Band Class for Grades 5-8 will also be offered in the Fall of 2012.  This  program is for beginners on flute, clarinet, saxophone, brass and concert percussion.

Classes will be on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. beginning on September 26.  An informational meeting for parents and students will be held at 7 p.m. on September 6, in McCreless Fine Arts Center Room 103.
