Professor Brad Kerns currently serves as Instructor of Trombone at Asbury University. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky (BM, Music Education) and graduate work at Boston University (MM, Trombone Performance).

Professor Kerns' teaching experiences include teaching an active private-lesson studio, providing masterclasses at area high schools and universities, and serving as the Assistant Trombone Instructor for the Tanglewood Institute.

Professor Kerns has performed with groups such as the Temptations, the Lexington Brass Band, the New England Brass Band, the Broadway touring production of "Chicago", ALEA III New Music Ensemble, the DiMartino/Osland Jazz Orchestra, the Kentucky Jazz Repertory Orchestra, the Piedmont Trombone Society, Saxton's Cornet Band, the Synergy Brass Quintet, the Momus Trombone Quartet, the New England Trombone Quartet, and the Victory Brass Quintet.

Brad currently lives in Nicholasville, KY with his wife, Katie, and their overly energetic dog, Sydney.
