Asbury College MSW program granted accreditation candidacy
WILMORE, KY—Asbury College’s Master of Social Work program has been granted accreditation candidacy status with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
The CSWE is the accreditation body for social work education in the United States. Candidacy status is the first step toward initial accreditation.
Social work education programs with CSWE accreditation have met a series of rigorous standards designed by leading social work educators and practitioners to ensure that students are adequately prepared for professional practice. Asbury College will be one of four colleges in the Coalition of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) with an accredited MSW program. According to CSWE, once a program is granted initial accreditation, graduates admitted during and after the candidacy period are considered alumni of an accredited program.
An undergraduate degree in social work is not a prerequisite for this program. The College is accepting applications and classes begin August 2008. To apply for the Asbury College MSW program, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 859-858-3511, ext. 2266.
