WILMORE, KY—Alumna Sarah Seaton ’05, a graduate of Asbury’s media communications program, received an Emmy Award for a promo she produced for ABC 7 News in Washington, D.C. titled “Who's Tapping Your Cell?”

Seaton received the award at the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences 2010 Emmy Awards. The event was held at the Ritz-Carlton in Downtown DC on June 6. View the promo.

Seaton didn’t think she would actually receive the Emmy and told her parents not to attend the awards event. “I couldn’t believe I had actually won! I froze, couldn't remember my acceptance speech that I had practiced on the trip up, and could only think about not tripping on stage!”

In December, Seaton received an M.A. in writing from Johns Hopkins University. In March, she moved to Knoxville, Tenn., where she is a producer for DIY Network.
