WILMORE, KY—The Asbury College theatre and cinema performance program presents, “Songs for a New World,” Jan. 29-31. First-time director junior Taylor Darden is directing the play of his peers as part of a directed study course.

“The experience is incredibly exhausting and difficult, but also extremely thrilling and satisfying when I'm able to pull things off,” Darden said. “I've got a great group of actors, musicians and technicians who are really committed to putting on a good show.

On opening night, Darden is most looking forward to praying and meeting with the company before the show begins.

The show features sophomore Tim Bishop, junior Natalie Lawyer, Darden and senior Sarah Matthews. Songs for a New World is an exciting contemporary four-person musical, which tells the individual stories of many characters connected with the common theme of facing unfamiliar territory in their lives.

The play runs January 29-31 in Doddridge-Holland Theatre. All performances are at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in the bookstore.
