Ike Adams

Idus W. "Ike" Adams is Professor of Social Work and Sociology and Director of Field Placements for BSW students. He is an adjunct professor at Russian American Christian University in Moscow, Russian Federation. He has also taught in the Northwest territories, Republic of China. His background is interdisciplinary with graduate degrees in social work, military science, divinity, and higher education/historical sociology from University of Kentucky. His primary interests are international social issues, urban studies, Appalachian Studies, and history of social thought, especially in the 1800s in America and England. He is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Adams worked in medical, mental health, social welfare policy planning, substance abuse prevention, and as a linguist in Germany.
