Staley Lecture art show on display in Kinlaw

WILMORE, KY—Canadian artist Sandy Martens is exhibiting her art work in Asbury College’s Kinlaw Library March 6-April 4. Part of the College’s Staley Lecture Series, Martens show is titled “Wholly Family, Holy Ground,” using watercolor to explore themes related to social justice.

The College is hosting a reception with the artist on March 6 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Kinlaw Library. The event is free and open to the public.

The show can also be viewed during normal library hours Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-11 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-9 p.m., closed Sunday.

Martens earned a bachelor’s of fine arts from the University of Calgary and received watercolor instruction from the Alberta College of Art. Her work has been displayed in shows in Canada, Germany and the United States. She had a solo show at Asbury Theological Seminary last October.

The Staley Distinguished Christian Scholar Lecture Program is a project of the Thomas F. Staley Foundation of New York. The Foundation seeks to bring distinguished scholars/artists who truly believe and who can clearly communicate the Christian gospel to students at American colleges and universities.
