The overall goal of writing consultants is to promote and develop critical and reflective writers as well as supporting writers in improving writing skills by teaching self-revising and self-editing/proofreading skills.
Students of all levels working at any stage of the writing process and on any genre of writing (including presentations, speeches, and other forms of communication) are encouraged to meet with a peer writing consultant. Students receive encouragement to grow in written communication skills and ability at any point of the writing process.
There are a variety of ways to get involved with Writing Consulting:
Appointments last approximately 30 minutes, but feel free to schedule a follow-up appointment in order to go over a revised draft.
