Rev. Esther Jadhav - "You Are of Great Value!"
February 18, 2013
“Are you not much more valuable than they?” -- Matthew 6:26b
Our value comes from both, who we are and what we can do. Not from what we can do alone. We live in a world where our personal value is based on what we can produce. We work hard to prove our worth and our value. At times we are driven to take extreme measures to prove ourselves. We may not have the means to do so but peer pressure, disappointments with who we are, and dissatisfaction with what we have pushes us to employ unreasonable means to gain and acquire a position and place of value.
God takes care of the birds of the air and the flowers of the field. The birds neither sow nor reap and yet they have food. The flowers neither toil nor spin to produce beautiful colored petals and yet they turn out bright and beautiful petals. If God cares for the birds and the flowers that do not toil like us, how much more will God care for us as earnestly do our part to be the best we can be?
