Rev. Esther Jadhav – “Response to God’s Provisions!”
November 12, 2012
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?'" - Hebrews 13:5-6
The story of the Israelites is a story of God’s provision. Each time Israel was in need, God provided. When they were hungry, God gave them food. When they were thirsty, God gave them fresh water to drink. When they were in slavery, God protected them and brought them out of bondage. God provided for every need Israel had.
Israel was asked to love God and to worship Him alone. However, there were many times when Israel worshipped other objects. Israel’s needs, rather than God, became the object of their worship. Often times other objects become the focus of our worship—when the focus of our worship should be God alone. Let’s respond by worshipping God alone for all His provisions. God knows our needs even before we do, so let us be bold in our faith by trusting in God who says, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
How are you responding to God’s provision of your need?
