Financial Stewardship Course:
This student-initiated proposal was approved in Fall 2011 for the formulation of a one-hour credit seminar class to be offered to students on a regular basis. The purpose was in response to a student-felt need for responsible financial planning and money management. The course is in partnership with First Southern National Bank who has contributed to the cost of materials as well as offering seminar leadership. The first course was offered in Fall 2011 with 25 students enrolled (maximum availability) with a waitlist of over 10. Course topics have included savings, budgeting, investments, and financial planning.
"For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it--lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him."
(Luke 14:28-29, NKJV)
