Mr. Jason Clayton - “Family Led by a Loving Father”

November 19, 2013

“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” – John 1:12-13 (NIV)

Close your eyes for a moment and meditate on the images and feelings that come to mind when you think of the word “family.” Some may see their siblings and their parent(s) on past vacations together or at the dinner table laughing. Others may envision lifelong friends they’ve had with whom they’ve entrusted their deepest and most secure secrets. Some of us would see one or two people, while others may see so many they couldn’t fit into Hughes Auditorium if you tried to gather them on campus for a family reunion.

Whether your family life has been filled with difficulty or with tremendous joy at this point, may you find peace and joy in the fact that if you’ve accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior.  Then you “are born not of natural descent, nor of human decision…but born of God.”  You are His child and part of an eternal family that desires the best for you. You are a son or daughter of the One True King. By accepting your Father’s true love for you, an abundant and blessed life is available that far exceeds anything you can imagine.
