Mr. Glenn Hamilton – “Solid Beyond Belief”
Scripture Reference: 1 Peter 1:21-25
“But the word of the Lord remains forever.” And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.” – 1 Peter 1:25 (NLT)
Where do I go when it seems like everything around me is moving and shifting all the time. It so often feels like the pace of my life and the variety of inputs are sometimes overwhelming. The fact that the word endures forever means an anchor point in the middle of our often over-full lives. This anchor holds us steady and points to the Good News that is found in Jesus.
It’s also the beginning of all good works (2 Timothy 3:17). It seems that our Christian lives become so full with good things to do that we run ahead of His directives. Working for Him rather than with Him becomes an all too familiar pattern for many of us.
Even as I write this I have become reacquainted with an old friend in the scriptures. I am reminded of the stability that being in the word on a regular basis brings to a person’s life. Where are you creating space to simply be in the word of God? Pick a time that works best for your rhythm of life. Simply start by asking the Holy Spirit to show you what He has for you through the word. Then begin reading in small sections each day. Remember that the goal is not to finish reading but to be in the word. You will be amazed at the solidity that will begin to develop in your life.
